STARRY NIGHT - a textured blue glaze pairs beautifully with green and cream accents for a stunning presentation suggestive of Van Gogh’s painting by the same name.
Our Seaworthy Lather Bowls are a wonderful departure into the creative. Utilizing an exclusive blend of glazes, these lather bowls emerge from the kiln with a visual “break” on any prominent ridge. This deep russet color is seen on the lower prominent edge, along the top rim, and on the bottom interior ridges. The ridge around the lower circumference has been raised somewhat higher than those in our Classic Collection. Note how the round thumb rest has been raised as well. As seen in the profile picture, the sides flare nicely for the sake of function and visual appeal. This is a lather bowl with swagger!
Handcrafted by a local potter to our specifications, each lather bowl begins as a lump of clay on a potter's wheel as seen in the pictures. The beauty of this handmade item is that each one will differ slightly. Natural differences in the glaze along with the individual craftsmanship of each bowl ensure that no two will be exactly the same.* They measure approximately 4 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" deep and will appear similar to the one that is pictured.
Ridges on the interior expedite the lathering process, and the low profile ensures the brush handle will not strike against the side. The convenient "button" with our signature compass rose adds a touch of class while serving as a thumb rest to provide a secure grip as you lather—perfecto!
