Knize Ten, created in 1925, takes its name from the highest “handicap” of the game of polo, the elitist sport of English gentlemen. Its characteristic and unmistakable leathery note dominates green and citrus notes, a surprisingly flowery heart and a warm and enveloping background of spices, woods and vanilla notes. Its original composition has been the subject of countless attempts at imitation but Knize Ten firmly maintains its primacy and, not surprisingly, it is among the few “eternal essences” mentioned in the book “The Gentleman” by B. Roetzel. Knize Ten opens with green and citrus notes of bergamot, lemon, petit grain and galbanum. The aromatic tarragon gives an exceptionally fresh touch.
