Paying homage to Opolis’ founder’s great, great grandfather sea captain Reuben Merrill, the Champlain is named after Captain Merrill’s 216-foot clipper ship built at East Boston and running out of New York that sank at the North Farallones on June 14, 1875, where Merrill lost his life. The design represents Merrill's adventurous spirit and dedication to the sea.

How to Care for Your Jewelry

A little care keeps your Oxfordum pieces looking their best. Follow these simple guidelines.

Solid Gold (10K, 14K, 18K)

• Clean with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush; rinse and pat dry.
• Remove before swimming in chlorinated pools, cleaning with household chemicals, or heavy work.
• Store pieces separately so harder stones and chains don't scratch softer gold.

Gold Vermeil & Gold-Filled

• Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising.
• Avoid perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals directly on the piece.
• Store in a cool, dry place — ideally in a pouch or jewelry box.
• Clean with a soft dry cloth after wearing.

Sterling Silver

• Silver naturally tarnishes over time — this is normal.
• Polish with a silver cloth to restore shine.
• Store in an airtight bag or box to slow tarnishing.
• Avoid exposure to chlorine, saltwater, and sulfur.

Plated Pieces

Plating (such as gold or rhodium plating) is a thin surface layer and wears gradually with use. Keep plated pieces away from water, perfume and friction, and check each product page for its specific care notes.

General Tips

• Put jewelry on last — after makeup, hairspray, and perfume.
• Remove before sleeping to prevent bending or breakage.
• Store pieces separately to avoid scratching.

Delivery

We ship to the United States and Canada. Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days, and delivery typically takes 3–7 business days within the US or 5–10 business days to Canada after dispatch. Canadian orders may be subject to customs duties or brokerage fees on delivery. Once dispatched, you'll receive a confirmation email with your tracking number.

Because we work with specialist suppliers, some orders may arrive in separate packages, each with its own tracking number. Every order ships fully insured.

Returns

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery — including sale items — for pieces in their original, unworn condition and original packaging. Items marked Final Sale on the product page and personalized pieces can't be returned unless they arrive defective or damaged.

To start a return, contact us and we'll send you the return address and instructions. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility, and original shipping charges are non-refundable, unless the item arrived defective, damaged or incorrect. If something is wrong with your order, please let us know within 48 hours of delivery.
