Maillon Serein 14K Yellow Gold-Filled Paperclip Chain – 2.1 mm

The chain that makes simplicity look intentional.
Maillon Serein refines the modern paperclip chain into a slim 2.1 mm silhouette defined by elongated links, polished surfaces and the warm tone of 14K yellow gold. Its clean proportions give the chain enough definition to stand beautifully on its own while keeping it effortless to combine with other necklaces.
Choose 16 in for a close-to-the-neck fit, 18 in for a classic everyday proportion, 20 in for a more relaxed neckline or 24 in for a longer statement. A 7 in option turns the same signature link into a coordinating paperclip bracelet.
Finished with solid chain construction and a secure lobster clasp, Maillon Serein is an adaptable foundation for everyday styling — polished enough to wear alone and understated enough to become part of a layered look.
WHAT IS GOLD-FILLED?
Gold-filled jewelry has a layer of 14K yellow gold bonded under heat and pressure to a base metal, making up at least 1/20 of the piece's total weight. It is distinct from solid gold, offering the warmth of yellow gold at a more accessible price.

How to Care for Your Jewelry
With the right care, your Oxfordum pieces will last for years. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your jewelry looking its best.
Gold Vermeil & Gold-Filled
- Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising.
- Avoid perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals directly on the piece.
- Store in a cool, dry place — ideally in a pouch or jewelry box.
- Clean with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
Sterling Silver
- Silver naturally tarnishes over time — this is normal.
- Polish with a silver cloth to restore shine.
- Store in an airtight bag or box to slow tarnishing.
- Avoid exposure to chlorine, saltwater, and sulfur.
Stainless Steel (Watches & Accessories)
- Wipe with a damp cloth to remove sweat and oils.
- Safe for daily wear — highly resistant to tarnish and scratching.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Waterproof & Tarnish Resistance
Many of our pieces feature PVD coating or rhodium plating for enhanced durability. Check individual product pages for specific care instructions. As a general rule: remove jewelry before swimming in chlorinated pools or saltwater.
General Tips
- Put jewelry on last — after makeup, hairspray, and perfume.
- Remove before sleeping to prevent bending or breakage.
- Store pieces separately to avoid scratching.
